Reasons why Brighton & Hove is the BEST city!

On many occasions, Brighton and Hove has been named as one of the happiest places to live and work. Famous for its seaside, culture, shopping and LGBTQ+ status, more people would choose this South Coast spot over other British locations.

At Young Lee, we love to talk about Brighton and Hove – there are so many wonderful things to say about the city and that’s why we think you should rent in Brighton and Hove.

We have put together our top 10 reasons why we think it’s the best city in the country and why you can’t go wrong renting a property in Brighton and Hove.

  • The seaside!

Whether you’re visiting the city or living here, once you’ve spent a summer at Brighton and Hove beach, nowhere else will compare. With the pier, doughnuts, fish and chips, BBQs, sand, cafes and the sea, what more could you need?

  • The unofficial gay capital of the country

Brighton and Hove is the unofficial gay capital of the country and the LGBTQ+ community is one of the largest in the UK. The diverse and inclusive city is one of the largest in the world and welcomes people from all walks of life. Each year, the iconic Brighton Pride festival takes place, which is one not to be missed.

  • Living costs

Whilst it may not be the cheapest place to rent, you get a lot for your money and it’s certainly an improvement on London. We’re always happy to discuss renting in Brighton and Hove and help you find a property that fits your budget.

  • Less people

With a much smaller population than London, a trip across Brighton during rush hour is likely to be a much more pleasant (and quicker!) experience.

  • Friendly, happy people

If you want to live somewhere pleasant, where your neighbours smile and say hello, then Brighton and Hove is the city for you! Often being named the friendliest city in the UK, a smile and a nod from passersby can often make all the difference to your day.

  • Countryside

If you love the city life, but like to take time out to explore the great British countryside, then Brighton and Hove could be the city for you to set up a home in. With the gorgeous South Downs on its doorstep, Brighton and Hove has easy access to the scenic countryside.

  • Nightlife

With hundreds of pubs, bars and clubs in the city, you will be spoilt for choice when headed out on a Friday, Saturday (or even Monday!) night.

With a night out that will easily rival London, you can have an unforgettable night with friends at the fraction of the cost.

  • Fresh air and green status

The MP of Brighton, Caroline Lucas, leads the Green party. The Green Party are keen to propose a range of policies seeking to tackle climate change and other environmental challenges, and these proposals can often be seen in practice in Brighton and Hove first.

Have you ever travelled around London and then blown your nose afterwards and seen the black snot which has developed after just one day? This is a reminder of how polluted the city is which is something you won’t experience in Brighton and Hove with the fresh sea air and green status.

Brighton is a uniquely wonderful city that celebrates all things weird and wonderful and there really is nowhere quite like it.
